The keys to a successful travel-themed wedding

THE VENUE

It should be a place that is symbolic for you both. Somewhere with the essence of the place you want to share with your guests. A castle, if the proposal was in Versailles, or a vineyard if your love was sealed in Bordeaux.

THE INVITATION

The journey begins the moment your guests receive the invitation. The most popular choices are plane tickets or passports. If you want something more original, you could go for die-cut invitations.

THE OUTFITS

Clothing is one of the key, distinctive elements. You can draw inspiration from your favourite places and bring them into your outfits. A mandarin collar with an Oriental cut, colours from India, headpieces with a Parisian air or Ibiza-style designs.

THE PHOTOGRAPHS

Here you can play with the decoration in different corners of the estate and transport your guests from one continent to another in seconds. All captured for posterity in beautiful, fun photos.

A PERSONALISED PLAYLIST

Music transports you and creates the right atmosphere for every moment. This is where you can best fill your guests' experience with your personal stamp.

THE DRINKS RECEPTION

During the drinks reception you can add a touch of originality and transport your guests to the places that have meant so much to you. Some caterers have adapted to the demand for world cuisine, offering dishes created by international chefs. Your guests will love trying something different. Food stations are another option, where they can taste the typical dishes of each place.

THE SEATING PLAN

Some couples use a world map to name each table after a destination. There are more original options that go beyond the seating plan. All the table decoration, tablecloths, tableware, flowers... Let your imagination fly and turn the wedding breakfast into little corners of the world.

FAVOURS FOR YOUR GUESTS

Bringing your guests a souvenir from one of your trips would be ideal but, if that is not possible, a handmade gift through a charitable organisation, such as the bracelets handmade by Maasai women artisans.

THE GUEST BOOK

Finally, having your guests sign a globe, or leave messages in a bottle, can be very moving.
